I currently teach in the Tulsa, OK area. I am available to teach from my home or make house calls. Feel free to contact me about lessons (rates or scheduling) or to browse through my studio policies for more information.
My primary goal is to develop confident and analytical musicians. The first step in this process is through detailed fundamental study of the instrument and exploration of multiple practice techniques. The second step is to cultivate problem-solving skills and foster inquisitive and proactive behavior.
I take a vocal approach to horn playing and encourage my students to find their individual sound through developing freedom and ease in all aspects of their playing. Chamber playing is stressed in my studio as I believe it is the best tool for developing a well-rounded musician.
Intermediate and advanced students are also exposed to natural horn as a hands-on way of studying the history, technique, and literature of our instrument.
Every student is unique I and strive to establish connections with my students that allow me to understand their learning style and create a program that best addresses their goals and needs.
